Rubber Party 2005 with the opening of renovated recreation ground – June 2005

Traditional Rubber Party, summer picnic with lots of food and drink and a cheerful company, which does not know the rest till morning, has happened  this year too. This years Rubber Party coincided with the opening of the renovated recreation ground at the production hall of Siliko in Sevnica. Therefore the bravest competed, besides the traditional party games, also in a true tournament in basketball.

This years Rubber Party was a true festivity, with all the food, from cevapcici (rolled grilled grinded meat) and pleskavice (flat round shaped grilled grinded meat) to goulash and macedonian grilled peppers, streams of drinks, live music and most of all partying till morning hours. The party started on the 4th of June in the morning around 9 o`clock, when the best versed started to prepare themselves for the grand tournament in basketball.

Who the winner was doesn’t really matter, since we swear on a well known saying “the important thing is to cooperate”, especially when it is about the 1. tournament on a brand new recreation ground. With the purchase of the production hall of the company Jutranjka at the end of 2003 we also bought the recreation ground along the production hall. At that time it was more than less a miserable condition. Some promised themselves to renovate and to modernize that playground, so that the company and the surroundings could be proud of it. With lots of good will and even more hours of work Bojan Vrhovnik, the production manager, together with Mr. Nejc Koprivec and some other employees from Siliko Sevnica, managed to completely renovate the sports playground and also the rest of the surrounding of the company.

The playground was renovated with the placement of the fence and hedgerow around asphalt grounding. Then all needed floor marks and signs for basketball and football were drawn, the basketball baskets, football goals, volleyball and tennis net etc were set. Today is the surrounding of the company together with the recreation ground one of the nicest in the Sevnica community. That confirms also the reward of Sevnica community for the nicest company in a community.

After the morning`s basketball tournament the party continued with party games with throwing water balloons, heelbarrow riding, bundle making, fast eating of “cokolino” (child food) etc.

In the afternoon the real party with live music till the morning started. By all means this years Rubber party succeeded, therefore we all decided to repeat it next year definitely!
