A successful introduction of the simultaneous 5-axis milling – October 2005

The tool room of the company was additionally equipped with a new 5-axis CNC processing centre Hermle C40U already in a year 2004. In September 2005 the processing facilities were additionally modernized with the purchase of another practically identical 5-axis processing center Hermle C40U Dynamic. Another step forward was made by the successful introduction of the simultaneous 5-axis milling. By this our tool room can be placed, despite its relative smallness, to the group of the most modern tool rooms.

In our tool room we have started with the introduction of several-axis processing at the manufacturing of complex tool parts. In the first phase we have been using the machine only on the positioned 3+2 milling.

Already with this type of processing great advantages of the machine were indicated. Additionally to it new and new ideas for higher productivity and most of all for manufacturing of the tools on even higher complex level were shown throughout the time. With this years purchase of another practically identical processing centre HERMLE C40U Dynamic we have made also a step forward at the NC code.

Lately we have started with the implementation of five-axis simultaneous processing. We upgraded the program package Pro/E with the license Pro/MFG NC Machining SET, which enables such type of programming (Pro/MFG NC Adv Machining SET). Furthermore we also started with the implementation of the program equipment VERICUT, by which we mostly want to simulate all the processings, including complete kinematics of the machine already in the program preparing process. In a close future we are planning to purchase the program equipment for the optimization of the milling path, by which we mostly wish to increase the productivity and shorten the processing time.
