Siliko has a several year long tradition. The beginnings of the company go back to 1984 when the managing director Janez Koprivec began with small craft production. As a Limited liability company Siliko Ltd operates since 1993. Production plant SILIKO PP Sevnica operates since 2003 and therefore this year celebrated its 5th anniversary.

Due to ever increasing demand a bigger extension of the production facilities was needed. Since the original premises in Brezje near Dobrova did not allow further extension, in 2003 the decision was taken to invest in the construction of a new production plant. As a result the premises of the company Jutranjka from Sevnica were bought.

At that day the premises in Sevnica were more or less in a bad condition, therefore intensive reconstruction work was needed. Today all the facilities look much different and show the image of a modern company. It often happens, that also ex workers of Jutranjka, who have been working for several decades in the very same premises, which are now completely renovated and modernized, do not recognize them at all. Today the company in Sevnica employs over 100 workers (Siliko Brezje and Sevnica together 150 workers).

On the 5th anniversary of Siliko in Sevnica open door day was arranged. Beside new business premises, production processes, the products that are being produced and main production and warehouse halls were introduced to visitors.

The event was honored also by the representatives of Sevnica and Bostanj Community.
